The first "Expo 2017 - Future Energy Forum“ is a series of 12 conferences in Astana, Kazakhstan taking place from June 2017 to September 2017. The Future Energy Forum is dedicated to advancing the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency and clean technology. The Forum will enable attendees to meet with influential governmental representatives, industry leaders, scientists, innovators and NGOs.

There will be 12 events in total, each lasting two days. The Forum's goal is to bring together bright minds to host talks that are energy-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration – and provoke conversations to generate solutions for a young, promising country as Kazakhstan is making a leap into sustainable energy.

Due to its natural rich resources and its geopolitical situation, Kazakhstan could become a role model for future energy markets. It aspires to become one of the top 30 competitive developed countries in the world by 2050 while gradually making key economic sectors sustainable. The growing recognition of Kazakhstan’s international and continental importance is a strategic linchpin in Central Asia and a potential gateway for commerce and communications between Europe and Asia. Hence, starting with the EXPO 2017 FUTURE ENERGY FORUM, Kazakhstan could become the ideal bridge between East and West.
